Bjälverud, ca 20 km north of Sunne centre, by route E45 along lake Fryken, has a.o. a nice bathing place "Vika" and a football field.
Unique for Bjälverud is the church-boat. Bjälverud belongs to the parish of Lysvik on the other side of lake Fryken. The boat started its tours to church in the late 30ies and is still in service. The locals prefer to go by boat ten minutes in the summer to 40 km by car to attend the church service and see to their graves.
