The Engineering unit's tasks are in brief:
Our main task is to supply suitable facilities to the municipality administrations and to maintain, improve and keep these facilities in the best economical way. We are also responsible for the elderly homes Allégården and Uddebo.
The Engineering unit answers for the management and maintenance of ca 45 kilometres streets and lanes in the urban areas of our municipality. We also answer for the management and maintenance of the streetlighting in the urban areas and on public and private roads in the municipality. Route E45 and the thoroughfare through Sunne is Vägverket's responsibility (the Swedish Road Administration). The ca 100 hectares of municipal parks, playgrounds and green areas are also maintained by the Engineering unit.
The Engineering unit is responsible for the supply of water for ca 7 000 and of drainage for ca 6 800 citizens on 13 urban areas in Sunne.
The municipality takes care of kitchen and similar waste from ca 4 500 households in the municipality. There are 13 recycling centres available in different areas of Sunne.
